Maintenance Term On Battery And Hardware
« on: November 15, 2015, 07:05:20 PM »
Just curious if anyone knows offhand what the warranty on the battery for the Model X.  Also, how long do they provide maintenance on a new car and what is included...if anything on purchase vs. lease?

Key fob battery

On a trip to the SW National Parks my key fob battery became low.  A nice warning on the dash indicated change it soon.  Looked at several places but none available right there .  Called Tech support who indicated get one at a support center, they install it for free.  My wife had a key and mine worked just fine through the trip.

When walking close to the car the key and car communicate as you all have noticed. This uses the battery energy much faster than a typical car.  The battery is also thicker, assuming more stored energy for that purpose and lack of normal availability.  Mine started within 6 months of ownership.
