Model X Accessories / EVannex is has good products
« on: October 27, 2017, 08:25:48 PM »
I have purchased several accessories from EV Annex store.  Happy with all of them.
1.   Little tray for front console cubby shelf.  This keeps small items from falling out during acceleration.  Pricey but useful.
2.   Extension cord for power cable.  25 foot long.  Allows me to park behind other car in narrow driveway.  However, I need to place a waterproof bag over the connection point midway whenever there is a chance of rain.  Heavy duty and heavy.
3.   Suction cup clothes hanger.  Clips to plastic back of front seats.  I can hang dry cleaning on it.  Every few weeks the seal dries up and it falls off.
4.   Black rectangular cloth shelf drawers.  Purchased from Walmart.  Bought 2 of them to organize stuff in my way back.  Chic.

EVannex provides free cards for annoying ICE drivers who block charging parking spots.   Got to use one at a restaurant with Tesla chargers.   When I went to unplug and leave, I noticed an ICE Cadillac next door and had fun putting the card under his windshield wiper!  They say, "You have inconvenienced an electric car owner, etc."

Model X Audio and Video / High definition rear camera
« on: October 27, 2017, 08:17:42 PM »
Love the high definition rear camera.  Even works well at night when red rear brake lights illuminate the area.  I have learned to frequently clean off the camera lens with a towel or napkin.

I have also learned the limit of the backing up distance in relation to the curvy lines.  You can go about halfway down the line before being close to hitting an obstruction.

Model X Audio and Video / Be careful with audio volume
« on: October 27, 2017, 08:15:07 PM »
Be careful with audio volume.  Number range is zero to eleven.  My friend starting raising up to 100 (thinking it was a percentage) and I was fearful that the speakers would be blown!  Luckily no damage, but gave me such a shock during the first week of ownership.  Good to know that components could handle the sudden maxing out.

Model X Maintenance / Wiper fluid Rain-X

I recommend purchasing the Rain-X brand wiper fluid.  Leads to much reduced spotting on front windshield.

Model X Performance / Smoked a Mustang last week

Share your performance stories.
I smoked a Mustang from red light up a short hill where 2 lanes converged to 1 lane.  It was only a short distance, no other cars or pedestrians were around.  That instant torque was awesome!

Model X Battery and Charging / Be sure cable is pushed all the way in
« on: October 27, 2017, 08:03:16 PM »
Caution to other Tesla owners.  I encountered a situation where the cable was not fully inserted into the car.  It was ever so slightly not all the way in.  When I came out to depart, the car had not added ANY energy.  I could have sworn it was OK when I started charging.  I see the green light.  Perhaps is jiggled or temperature expanded slightly.  So now it push hard to ensure there is a tight connection!

PS - I also had a cable malfunction after 2 months.  Tesla replaced free of charge.  But of course, I had to pick up the cable in the other ICE car!

Model X Polls / Winter weather floor mats
« on: October 27, 2017, 07:53:10 PM »
Has anyone purchased rubberized winter weather floor mats?  I live in a winter snowy area and would like to protect my carpets.  A year ago, I started inquiring of WeatherTech.  No response.  They should get them ready and charge a fortune to the early adopters.  I saw other less-molded versions on Tesla store.  But I don't want to compromise.  I had excellent WeatherTech lines in my truck with high-banked edges.
